1974: The Vietnam Economic
Association (VEA) was established. The first members-organisations were the
Institute of Economics and the Hanoi Economic University.

1974: VEA became a member
of the International Economic Association.

1975: VEA became a member of the
Economic Association of Developing Countries.

1990: The Second Congress of VEA.
Many branches of VEA have been created in provinces, educational and
academical institutions.

1991-2001: 15 research, training
and consulting institutions have been established with the sponsorship of
VEA.

1992: The Vietnam Economic Times
began to be published by VEA.

1995: VEA established the Hanoi
Business and Management University.

June 2001: The Third Congress of
VEA.

December 2006: The Fouth
Congress of VEA.

December 2012: The Fifth
Congress of VEA.
